Day 1: San Jose – Arrival
Upon arrival to the airport you are met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in San Jose. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 2: San Jose – Tortuguero
Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning, you are transferred to Pavona or Caño Blanco Dock to take a boat ride to Tortuguero. After lunch at your hotel, visit Tortuguero Village, a tranquil setting with no cars or wide streets surrounded by nature. One side of the village faces rivers and waterways, and the other side is an unexplored beach, the third most visited National Park in the country, despite the fact that it can only be reached by plane or boat.
Day 3: Tortuguero
Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning enjoy a canal tour by boat and a guided tour of the trails in the National Park. After lunch at your hotel, continue to explore the canals and waterways of Tortuguero by boat.
Day 4: Tortuguero – Tenorio
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer by boat from Tortuguero to the dock, from where you will proceed overland by coach to Tenorio Volcano National Park. En route, stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to your hotel near the main entrance to Tenorio Volcano National Park.
Day 5: Tenorio – Rio Celeste – Tenorio
Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy a guided tour of Rio Celeste, located within Tenorio Volcano National Park and famous for its distinctive turquoise waters. Along the river you will find hot springs and a waterfall of singular beauty, surrounded by varied flora and fauna of the rainforest.
Day 6: Tenorio – Tamarindo
Breakfast at your hotel. Depart Tenorio for Tamarindo on the Nicoya Peninsula on the northern Pacific coast. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Your hotel is located on the beach near the Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge and Las Baulas National Park, where Leatherback turtles nest each year. Tamarindo is a beach town that combines high-end shopping, dining and nightlife in a spectacular natural setting.
Day 7: Tamarindo
Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy a full day at leisure in Tamarindo to explore the beach, town, and nearby natural areas at your own pace.
Day 8: Tamarindo – San Jose
After breakfast and some free time, you will be transferred by coach to San Jose for an overnight stay. After checking in to your hotel, the remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 9: San Jose – Departure
After breakfast at your hotel, you are transferred to the airport to board your return flight home.
