Explore the complex history and mind-boggling architecture of the Inca culture as you visit splendid museums, tour ancient fortresses and temples, and enjoy traditional Peruvian cuisine, music, and dance.
Day 1: Lima – Arrival
Upon arrival to Lima airport, you are met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in the city center.
Day 2: Lima
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy the morning at leisure. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the the Larco Herrera Museum, which provides a comprehensive overview of 4000 years of pre-Columbian history.
Day 3: Lima – Cusco
After breakfast at your hotel, you are transferred to the airport to board your short flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 4: Cusco
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a morning tour of Cusco and a visit to Sacsayhuaman, the hilltop fortress overlooking the city. Continue to Kenko, the temple dedicated to Mother Earth. Before heading back to Cusco, stop at Puka Pukara (the red fortress) and Tambomachay (the resting place of the Inca).
Day 5: Cusco
Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy a full day at leisure in Cusco to continue exploring the ancient city of the Inca at your own pace. In the evening, enjoy a special buffet dinner at Tunupa Cusco, and experience live entertainment including Peruvian traditional dancing and music.
Day 6: Cusco – Sacred Valley
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Pisaq Market in the Sacred Valley of the Inca. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Ollantaytambo Fortress, home to the Temple of the Sun and the Terrace of the Ten Niches.
Day 7: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Sacred Valley
After breakfast at your hotel, you are transferred to the train station in Ollanta to board your Vistadome panoramic train through the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes, at the base of the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, travel by bus to the citadel for a guided tour. In the evening, return by train to Ollanta and continue by bus back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.
Day 8: Sacred Valley
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a full day at leisure to enjoy the natural beauty of the Sacred Valley.
Day 9: Sacred Valley – Cusco – Lima
After breakfast at your hotel and some free time to relax, travel back to Cusco by bus and board a short flight to Lima. Upon arrival to Lima, enjoy a city tour of the main sights including a visit of San Francisco, the city’s most visited church. Its underground tunnels lead to catacombs that served as a cemetery until 1808AD. In the evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner Rosa Nautica restaurant, located in Miraflores on the Pacific coast, before being transferred to the airport to board your overnight flight back to the USA.
